For all services, THE FELIX EFFECT generally adheres to a time-honored process of schematic design (concept design — the “wow” effect), design development (further refinement of the concept, including bid set documents for contractors, vendors, etc.), permit drawings (when relevant), construction drawings, and implementation through project management, as well as procurement, and more.

SCHEMATIC CONCEPT

Below follows the initial concept document (schematic design) for a project now near to completion in Washington, DC, with the working title of CURATING ELIZABETH (Elizabeth Vella, client).

An interior design project that alights from some of the existing conditions within the client’s house, it revolves entirely around curating an art collection that serves the concept of Ms. Vella’s upbringing in California (Pacific Rim), her life and influential position in Washington, DC as a partner in the internationally prestigious law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw, and her female empowerment. All but one of the artists associated with the project are female.

Photos of the nearly completed project show to what degree THE FELIX EFFECT’s vision was carried out per the original concept.
