Led by Felix Etienne-Edouard Pfeifle, Director, who believes every client has an “inner-Medici” and that every project has the potential to create a legacy of lasting excellence, far beyond its impactful appearance. With unique scholarly insight into art and design — historical and current — coupled with an innovative vision, THE FELIX EFFECT exists outside the mundane world of trends, positioning the client as a culture-defining connoisseur who contributes to an international ecosystem of artists.

INTERDISCIPLINARY DESIGNER

Based in Washington, DC, and Hollywood, CA, Felix has spent 23 years on the front lines of shaping meaningfully designed spaces, principal among them custom houses — ground-up and curatorial interior design — boutique hotels, and gardens, in addition to substantial furniture design. Considered an art impresario by many from San Francisco to Vienna, Felix curates life. He trained in NYC and LA architecture firms before founding his own practice in 2005.

FULBRIGHT, BERKELEY, PRATT, NEW SCHOOL

Because being an aesthete requires deep study, it started here for Felix: BA, University of California at Berkeley, cum laude, 1992; The University of Vienna, 1992-93, Fulbright Fellowship for the study of Modernist Aesthetics of the Habsburg Empire; MS, Interior Architecture, Pratt Institute, 1998. Felix has taught architectural and urban planning history at the New School for Social Research in NYC. He is fluent in French and German and conversant in Spanish.

SON OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

5th generation Californian and a Mayflower and Magna Carta Sureties descendant. In short, he is a son of Western Civilization and its natural custodian. Felix is a custodian of legacies. Pioneering and refinement all play into THE FELIX EFFECT — we’re not born in a vacuum, after all.

TEAM

THE FELIX EFFECT is a team working under the direction of Felix Pfeifle and includes an upholster / furniture maker (we call her “The Sewist”), a butler-trained architect, and a master carpenter.
